In July 2006 School Works was absorbed into the BCSE and its staff became the start up team for the new organisation. Since 1999, School Works had been running participatory design processes with schools and local authorities.

The BCSE now offers a range of new services including participatory design processes which draw on the expertise of experienced School Works facilitators and associates
